I've seen it: It's Coming -- Stay Tuned!
Albino Llama: Llamas are awesome! (77)
Hi there, all y'all! I won't say I'm back, 'cause that'd be stretching the truth a little too far. However, I'm definitely around dA a lot more than I have been over the past 9 months or so... between recitals, classes, a new job, and other fun things, I had a negative amount of free time. :( I'm trying to get back into the swing of reading, commenting, favoriting, and all of that lovely stuff. Apologies if you don't hear from me much; my inbox is quite swamped, so it'll take some time to get through everything! As far as what's up with me... I'm now a senior in college and (one way or the other) the end is near. Currently looking at grad

Well, good morning. I'd like to say I've been lurking around lately, but I've barely been doing that. Can't make excuses - but I've got some bloody good reasons for not being around much lately. Work is great, but time- and energy-consuming; the family is fun, but even more time- and energy-consuming; and then there are all those little things that pop up on an irregular basis (our oven broke last night. superheated metal coil that won't turn off, anyone?)........ ... That was all way too negative. I need to be more positive. SO! On the upside, I have a new car. That works well. AND IT HAS AIRCONDITIONING. :D More happy thoughts: I

Do unto others

I've been thinking again. (Never a good sign, I know.) There's been a fair amount of discussion about the state of the dA Lit community lately - what it needs, how it's doing, and so on. If you're reading this, you probably already know my opinion: critique, commenting, and community are under-rated, under-appreciated, and under-utilized. So, because I want to encourage the above and I want to set an example, I'm putting my gallery into storage and will focus entirely on commenting and critiquing when I have the time to be on dA. Maybe when I feel like I have a really polished piece that I'd like feedback on, I'll upload another piece or th

So, some time has passed. What do you think of the new guy now? ;)
He's solid, but in a very different way from his predecessors. I agree with a saying that got tossed around a few months ago: "JPII said 'here's what we believe', Benedict said 'here's why we believe it', and Francis says 'OK, so go do it.'" I'm not sure I approve of his prioritization (but then, that's why no one wants me to be pope!), but with an institution as massive as the Catholic Church, it's hard to fault him, and he's done a lot of good work so far.

How's that? ;) Your thoughts?
Pretty much where I am, too. I like that he seems to live simply and walk the walk. I think a Pope should be visible and among the people. If a kid is comfortable climbing up on stage and hugging him, he's doing it right.
Been meaning to ask, what do you think about the new guy? My granddad's name was Francis, so I'm a little biased, but I like him so far. He seems like you'd meet him on the bus, and that seems close to God to me.
I'm a little biased, too - my younger brother's name is Francis. That said, I haven't really seen enough of him yet to say or form an opinion, you know? Time will tell. So far, so good, though!
I'm hopeful. Benedict was an academic, really. There's a place for that, but I think a people person is needed. If Francis can decisively and realistically handle the problem, I might just find my way back to Mass again.
Happy birthday! I hope the year ahead is full of health, happiness and success.
